I want to welcome everyone to our Appel-Palooza website.

I would like to dedicate this website to the children of Robert and Thelma Appel and their families. I am going to try to include something that will Interest everyone, with the yearly family reunion being the theme. This event is something that all seem to look forward to every year; I know for me, it always takes too long to get here and is over way to quickly. Some of the pages I am `tossing around in my head are as follows. I sent out an email recently to everyone I had an address for asking for ideas and they are still welcome. But as for my ideas, here goes. I was thinking about a page about Bob and Thelma titled Humble beginnings or something to that effect with general information on where they were born, where they grew up, how they me met Etc. Etc. Of course, I will need the help of their older offspring in this endeavor. I am also thinking about a page that contains an email directory that will include everyone that will allow me to post their emails on the Internet. Sidney give me an idea on the way home from Appel-Palooza 2008, and that was some form of a family tree to give everyone (especially the younger members of the family) a place to look and see who is who and how they are related. Then there is a possible Chat page and or a forum for Family communication. I think the Chat page would be cool for real-time communication and the forum based page would be for those that work odd hours to be able to join in and leave messages. I thought I would have a page for pictures, so if someone wants to post pictures they can send then to me and I will get them posted. I am sorry but I can’t leave the website open so that everyone can post their own pages. Am not sure how many of you know HTML and macromedia Flash code, but you would have to know it to work with the page. I will most likely use some sort of a password before I would post anything personal like an email address or any personal information. Plus we have a set amount of download traffic available to us and I don’t want people that are not members of the family using our website resources. I have thought about adding flash online games and a guest counter to track how many of you visit the page and how often. Maybe even log IP addresses so I know who visits and when. Whatever I can think of or whatever you can think of that will attract our family to this page. It is a work in progress in my head and I am learning how to build these pages as I go so please be patient will me. If you find something that does not work I would appreciate an email to let me know so I can fix it or remove it. We Love You All and are already looking forward to 2009, it is my hope that this will help bring us together while we wait!
